I love me a latte, especially when it’s packed with anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants, like a warm turmeric latte.
As much as I enjoy the characteristics of coffee, I don’t do well with caffeine. One day I’ll find a spike in energy, bursting in productivity, the next I could be crashing hard with jittery feelings. That 50/50 really isn’t worth the stress, which is why I opt in for either very low caffeinated or completely non-caffeinated beverages, like this yellow beauty.
For this recipe, I recommend Gaia Herbs Golden Milk. It’s made with organic turmeric, ashwagandha (an adaptogen that aids in stress support), dates, cardamom, and vanilla – vegan & dairy-free! After doing some research, I also found that they test for heavy metals, pesticides, & microbials (bacteria), which is so necessary when thinking about how much of this we can be exposed to in our every day food consumption and in general if we’re not aware. You can even track your product you purchase online! Because Gaia Herbs is so transparent with their production and traceibility, it’s become a brand I trust.
If you’re gearing for a sweet, creamy & frothy drink that brings upon an extra kick to your morning or an afternoon pick-me-up, check out the simple recipe below. I also added in some collagen peptides, great for improving the health of skin and joints (but it is optional).
INGREDIENTS
- 1 tsp Gaia Herbs Golden Milk
- 1 scoop collagen peptides
- 1 1/4 cup oat milk
- Cinnamon
DIRECTIONS
- Add golden milk powder + collagen peptides to your favorite mug
- Warm up oat milk and pour into mug
- Use milk frother to blend ingredients, smooth out texture, and to really make things foamy and creamy. Top with cinnamon!
